Spring decoration

Table setting is becoming an important part of home decoration. It doesn`t only give a pleasant feeling for everyone who steps in the room, but also gives unique comfort. That is why I present you an idea for spring table decoration.

All you need:
> Cardboard box
> Brown and white paint and flat brush
> Crepe paper
> Straw and a tread
> Scissors, masking tape and a pen

1. First step is to make an appropriate box. If you already have a perfect box size you are lucky.

2. You need a box with good length or width. First cut out the side wings of the box. Then cut it in the middle. If you want to shorten the width then cut in the middle of the length, and reverse. Then make the one of the two part exactly the size you want tour box to be. Then put this side inside the other. Cut the exes of the second part. And now you have a box with a perfect size. This box will be our plant pot.

3. Put pieces of masking tape all around the edges to smooth them out.

4. Then paint the box in brown or other colour of your choice. I used spray paint. This method is quickly and it gives an nice even coat of paint.

5. Now it is time to make our “wood” distressed. To make that simply put a small amount of white paint on the top of a flat brush. Try it first on a side paper. Move the brush vertically all around the box.

6. Next step is to make the flowers. Take three layered piece of crepe paper with size around 10 cm length and 5 cm width. Fold the paper like accordion. Then tie it in the middle with the tread but do not tighten too much. Curve the two sides using the scissors. Make sure that all the layers are separated. To ensure this step simply cut a millimeter from each side. Then start separating the layer with your fingers and shape the flower.

7. Put a green straw in the thread of a few of the flowers. This will imitate the flower stalk.

8. Cut a piece of a cardboard in a shape that will fit in the box but wont fall down in it. You can use on of the side wings of the box you used. Then cover it in green crepe paper or simply paint it.

9. Finally, make as many holes as the number of flowers with straws. You can make that using a pencil or awl.

10. Your last step is to put the straws in the holes. Then put the green cardboard piece in the ‘wooden’ box at the high of 2/3. Eventually, arrange the other flowers over this green part. And you are done!
