It`s September already and school season is here. I know that a lot of you have already started school but I have two more weeks and it is the perfect time for school preparation for me. I will give some tips how to coordinate your school supplies and keep everything in one theme.
First thing you need to do is just to sit and think about everything you will need. I made a cute Back To School list for you. I drew everything in it and I hope you will like them. It will definitely help you to plan your theme! I know that there are different people so I made two designs – one very colourful and bright and the other in black and white, grey and this hot pink colour. You can downloaded them. They are designed to help you to keep everything in theme. There are 5 boxes in which you should draw or glue the patterns and colours you want to use. I know that there are a lot of cute stuff in the stores and that way your goal will be always with you and not only in your mind. I chose cream marble, creamish colour or something like that, black and gold. There are 3 sections. The first one is for your supplies. There is a place for their amount, too. The second section is for your clothes. And the last section is for other things like cosmetics, wet wipes or anything for your emergency kit.

First, think about your subjects : how many they are and what you will need for each. For example I have 10 subjects, but I will need notebooks for only 6 of them. I decided to buy 3 notebooks with two sections in them. That way I won`t carry too much notebooks and I will have 2 in 1 or actually 6 in 3. I choose 3 notebooks with colours matching my theme. But of course I DIY the covers. For the first one I made a golden polka dot:
First, I made the cover all black by puting some black adhesive paper on it. Just trace it on the back of the paper by adding few cm on the 3 of the sides.Cut it out and remove the back of the paper. Put it on the cover starting as near as you can to the spiral area. Use ruler or similar to prevent air bubbles. Cut the edges and glue the rest on the back. Then take colour thin paper and fold it into 4. Hole punched it many times. That way you will have mini circles. They will be your polka dots. And just glue them on the cover.
You can recreate beautiful notebooks you have seen. I chose to recreate this mountain notebook I saw in Pinterest. I draw the mountain mirrored on the back of my marble adhesive paper. Then cut it out and remove the back of the paper. Apply it on the cover starting on the out edge of the notebooks. Use a ruler to prevent from air bubbles again. Finally, draw and cut out the snow parts. I made them gold.
And remember – keep things simple. You don`t need too much to make things beautiful and to keep everything in one theme.
I will show you how to make labels that match every theme. Cut a square or a circle from tracing paper and write the subject on it. Then just glue it on the cover. Don`t worry, the glue dry after few minutes. Its super simple but its very effective because it gives this matte effect.
Now it`s turn for the pencil case. I wanted a new, just because the old one wasn`t cool or pretty, but actually it was in a very good condition. And I will show you what I did with it. It was brown with pink flowers, black zips and ties on the zips. I remove the ties and paint the whole case black. Then I painted the zips golden. If you are going to paint the zips try not to layer too much paint. Finally, I made a cute tassel from matching colour embroidery thread. Just wrap few layers on your fingers. Tie this with a little piece from the thread to the zip. Tie the wrap part with other piece to form the head of the tassel and finally cut the bottom part.
Now think about your pens. How much you will need actually and do you have some left from the previous year. Don’t waste money on things you don’t need. My pens were black with blue on the cap, so I painted the blue part golden. I painted my pencil also golden. If you can not find a pencils matching your theme, make sure to buy ones with similar colour that you can easy paint. You can also paint your stapler pins.
