Some people say that “this is a part of the charm of reading a book”. Well, I think that reading can be charming without the shopping list that mom gave me a week ago. Why don’t we show some respect to the books by not whittling them to just objects that carry information. Make reading fascinating and beautiful with a small and easy to carry accessory that will complement the pleasure of reading, but also is the perfect addition to your outfit and look – the bookmark.
All you need:
> ribbon or lace
> ruler
> scissors
> rings
> stoppers
> beads or medallions
1. With a ruler measure the length of the book on your choice and cut a piece of ribbon or lace of the same length. For this type bookmarks it is better if the ribbon is not very wide. If you will make a gift for a boy choose a suitable color and ribbon , and appropriate decorations for the both ends of the piece of ribbon.
2. Thread a beautiful bead in the ribbon.
3. Secure the ends of the ribbon with stoppers.
4. With rings hang to the stoppers a medallion, a tassel or a figurine – something small, that will suite the book or the ribbon you’ve chosen. And you’re done!
