Music records bag

When I was 12, I saw a bag made from music records and a blue fabric in a shop. And since then I have always wanted to do my own. I was curious about this bag because actually that was my  first and last time seeing a bag like this. So, I search in Pinterest and there a lot of similar bags. Even Chanel have made one. I think that this is a very unique piece and can be very interesting accessory. So, I finally made it! It turned out very cute, because I use small music records (I don’t need a big bag at the moment). And actually music records are very cheap.

All you need:
> Two music records
> Paint and a paint brush
> Piece of not stretchy fabric
> Piece of faux leather
> Glue gun and a needle and a thread
> Scissors and a pen
> A zip

music record bag1. Start by adjusting the future bag. Where you want it to be while you are wearing it, the length and the width of the fabric.

music record bag2. Then paint only the center of the music records. I mix white and dark green paint to make a mintish colour. May be because the paper of the records` label was old, but the colour turned out very picturesque.
Quick tip —> Clean up the edges with the wooden end of the brush. It`s so easy!

music record bag3. While waiting for the paint to dry, measure your fabric. I needed 1.5 m length. But the width part was tricky. I fold my fabric in the middle. But that was to wide. So I fold it once again and it was perfect. Make sure you are happy with the size.

music record bag4. But you need two layers of the fabric. That way it will be more durable. So, I cut my fabric in the middle.

music record bag5. And remember! Don’t use a stretchy fabric.

music record bag6. For the next step you are going to need a glue gun or a needle and a thread. I didn’t have enough silicone sticks for my glue gun, so I used a needle and a thread. Put the thread in the needle and make a double tie.

music record bag7. Lay the fabric with the right side facing you. Fold it in half vertically, so now the wrong side is facing you. The side I`m pointing in the picture is the wrong one.

music record bag9. When is done, turn it inside out.

music record bag10. Now you should have something like this. Mark the middle of the fabric.

music record bag11. Apply some glue gun on the wrong side of the records. Apply it about 2 cm above of the edge in a half-circle shape. Press the fabric to the glue, starting from the marked point. Make the two sides equal.

music record bag13. Then cut a piece from the faux leather. The width should be double the width of your bag strap, and the length should be about 10 cm. Put the two edges of the bag strap in the center of the faux leather piece. And glue them to it with the glue gun. Then glue the sides, too. They should meet in the middle.

Mark the middle of the fabric.14. Latter, I realized that the strap is too wide, so I sew it in a half.

music record bag15. Then measure the size of the hole of your bag.

music record bag16. Cut a piece of the faux leather with this measurements. Divide it in two halves. There will be your zip.

DSCF319217. Put some glue on the zip`s fabric. Press one of the halves on the glue. Repeat for the other half.

music record bag18. Eventually, glue this zip part for the music record in a half-circle shape. And that’s it!

Mark the middle of the fabric. Mark the middle of the fabric. Mark the middle of the fabric. Mark the middle of the fabric. Mark the middle of the fabric.
